Miami East Local School District is seeking qualified applicants for the Assistant to the Treasurer position.

Qualifications:
Undergraduate or associate accounting or finance degree (preferred).
Experience in payroll processing and budgetary accounting is preferred. Other similar experiences will be considered.
Candidates must possess strong analytical and financial problem-solving skills.
Must demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication skills.
Candidates must be able to multi-task without losing attention to detail.
Candidates must demonstrate computer proficiency and have experience using electronic spreadsheets, word processing, and database applications on a computer.
Meet all other legal requirements and criminal background checks.
Available to work irregular hours and or a non-traditional schedule.
Must have a friendly, customer service attitude and ability to handle people in difficult situations.
Job Goal:
The Assistant to the Treasurer will assist the Treasurer in the administration of all financial matters, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, capital asset management, employee insurance, grant program accounting, and other program management as needed, and shall be responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of all matters pertaining to the Treasurer's office and the entire school district. The Assistant Treasurer will perform professionally all duties assigned, contributing to the efficient operation of the Treasurer's Office.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Assist in accounts payable/accounts receivable duties.
Perform payroll functions including, but not limited to, preparation of all payroll reports and management of employee benefits in accordance with labor contracts and applicable law.
Manages student activity budgetary accounts.
Assists in preparing monthly financial reports and appropriately stores this information for efficient retrieval.
Performs monthly and yearly systems reconciliations and close-out procedures.
Assists in reconciling all District bank accounts.
Works cooperatively with other administrators and staff in the district and responds to information requests.
Responsible for verifying and balancing budgetary accounts at year-end and making sure all budgetary accounts are in balance pursuant to Ohio Budgetary law.
Works cooperatively with individuals responsible for managing State and Federal grant programs by providing cost information and completing cost reports as needed.
Assists in the preparation of the annual year-end financial report.
Maintains adequate training to stay current on new rules and regulations affecting the accounting system and the Treasurer’s Office.
Assists the Treasurer in developing and implementing policies required by statute or the Board of Education.
Effectively handle day-to-day operating issues that develop concerning areas under his/her supervision.
Other duties as assigned by the Treasurer/CFO or his/her designee.
