Coach Mark Rose was a high school state placer at Miami East HS and All-American for Ashland University. Mark then had two stints as the head wrestling coach for Miami East HS, 2004-2008 and 2013-2022. During his coaching tenure, Mark has 50 state qualifiers, 26 state placers, 4 runners-up and 6 state champions. In addition, Mark coach the first and only female to place in the boys OHSAA State Championships.
Mark's teams finished in the OHSAA Top Ten team placements 5 times, with a 4th place finish in 2021 and a 5" place finish in 2022. Miami East had 6 Top 5 finishes at the District Tournament, highlighted with a District Championship in 2018.
